Project Complete: BC Housing Development in Chilliwack, BC
Another one in the books.
BNR Electric has officially wrapped up the full electrical scope on a new BC Housing development in Chilliwack — a project that delivers [X units] of affordable housing to families in our own backyard.
This is the kind of work we’re proud to put our name on. Not just because the electrical is clean, code-compliant, and built to last, but because it matters to the community we’ve served since 2013.
What the Project Involved
Multi-unit residential builds don’t leave room for guesswork. Every circuit, every panel, every device has to be planned, permitted, and inspected — and it all has to hold up under the scrutiny of BC Housing standards and BC Electrical Code.
Our crew handled the project end to end:
- Service and distribution — main service entrance, distribution panels, and unit-level sub-panels sized for long-term load
- Rough-in across all units — full branch circuiting, device boxes, and cable pulls through [X floors]
- Life safety systems — fire alarm, emergency lighting, and exit signage coordination
- Common area and site lighting — corridors, stairwells, parking, and exterior wall packs
- Finishing and trim-out — devices, fixtures, panel labelling, and unit-by-unit verification
- Inspection and commissioning — full sign-off with Technical Safety BC and turnover documentation

Why Multi-Unit Residential Is a Different Animal
Wiring a single-family home is one skill set. Wiring [X] units on a schedule, alongside framers, plumbers, drywallers, and mechanical trades, is another.
The challenge on a build like this isn’t any one task — it’s repetition without drift. Unit 4 has to be wired exactly like unit 34. Panel schedules have to be accurate. Labelling has to make sense to whoever maintains the building ten years from now.
That’s why we run the same crews on multi-unit work. Consistency comes from the same hands doing the same work the same way, every time.
